Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of Lamplight , there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

Known limitations for Lamplight:

  1. A visual captcha is still used for 'forgotten password' functionality.: The captcha shows mangled characters that have to be entered before a password reset can be initiated because We have not yet been able to replace with an accessible alternative. .System administrators can reset passwords from within the system (manage operators) if required..
  2. Images uploaded by colleagues to media module: Files and images uploaded to your system by colleagues may not have text descriptions. because We can't enforce this - your internal processes will need to be updated if this is necessary. . Consider internal training and processes when uploading images..
  3. Timeouts - reauthenticating without loss of data (2.2.5): Autosave is implemented to avoid this but can be turned off because System administrators may prefer to disable this functionality.. . Speak to your organisation about this decision..
  4. 3.1.5 Reading Level and 3.1.6 Pronunciation: Content added by colleagues to your system may not meet this requirement because Lamplight is not responsible for content added to records.. . .

Lamplight Database Systems Limited assessed the accessibility of Lamplight by the following approaches:

Caution: there seems to be a problem loading css, or you've disabled css. Lamplight will still work, but will be harder to use. We recommend you ensure that you are using remote css files and not overwriting them with local css. It's also possible if you can read this message that there is a problem with the server: please contact us if you think this is the case.
